Job Title: Design and Estimation Manager – Electrical LV Panels
Job Overview
Nanu Industries Goa, are seeking a leader to lead our Design and Estimation Teams. With 15 years of experience specializing in Low Voltage (LV) control panels, you will lead a dedicated engineering team, overseeing both the technical design and competitive costing of all types of LV panels. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of manufacturing standards, with a strong emphasis on IEC 61439 compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Estimation Management
- Lead the team in designing and costing a comprehensive range of LV panels, including PCCs, MCCs, APFC panels, and synchronization panels.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate, competitive commercial bids based on client tender documents, specifications, and RFQs.
- Review and approve detailed engineering outputs, including electrical schematics, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Conduct component selection, optimize busbar sizing, and ensure accurate thermal calculations to maximize cost efficiency and performance.
Standards & Quality Compliance
- Ensure all designs and estimates strictly align with global engineering specifications and local utility standards.
- Apply comprehensive working knowledge of the IEC 61439 standard to verify panel configurations, temperature rise limits, and short-circuit ratings.
- Implement value engineering strategies during the bidding stage to secure projects while maintaining healthy profit margins.
Team Leadership & Liaison
- Manage, mentor, and evaluate a dedicated team of design and estimation engineers.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and procurement teams to resolve technical queries.
- Coordinate seamlessly with procurement and production teams to ensure estimated costs align with actual manufacturing expenses.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in CAD tools, including AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN Electric P8.
- Expert knowledge of switchgear components, discrimination/coordination charts, and sheet metal enclosure designs.
- Strong capability in interpreting complex tender specifications, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and control schematics.
Experience & Education
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: 15 years of core experience in LV panel design and estimation, including proven experience leading engineering teams.
